ResumeAI is designed with privacy first. Your resume data is stored only on your device. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers.
1. Who We Are
ResumeAI ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile and web application developed by CodeHunk Technology. We can be reached at codehunktechnology@gmail.com.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the ResumeAI app available on iOS, Android, and the web.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you create a resume, you may enter:
- Full name, email address, phone number, location
- Work experience, education, skills, projects
- A profile photograph (taken with your camera or selected from your photo library)
- Any other content you choose to add to your resume
This data is stored locally on your device only. It is not transmitted to our servers unless you use the AI Import feature (see Section 2.3).
2.2 Device Permissions

We never access your camera or photo library without your explicit action. We do not store, transmit, or process photos beyond embedding them in your resume document on-device.
2.3 AI Resume Import (Optional Feature)
If you use the "Import Resume" feature, your uploaded PDF or image is sent to a secure AI processing server (hosted on Hugging Face Spaces) to extract your resume data. This transmission is:
- Encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
- Processed immediately and not stored on the server after extraction
- Only initiated by your explicit action (tapping "Choose File" and confirming)
The extracted data is returned to your device and stored locally. No copy is retained on our servers.
2.4 Payment Information
Premium subscriptions are processed by RevenueCat and the platform's native payment system (Apple App Store or Google Play). We never see or store your credit card or payment details. RevenueCat may collect anonymised purchase data to verify your subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
2.5 Automatically Collected Data
We do not run our own analytics. We do not collect device identifiers, crash logs, or usage data beyond what Apple/Google collect through their standard platform diagnostics (subject to your device privacy settings).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above solely to:
- Generate and display your resume within the app
- Export your resume as a PDF at your request
- Process AI extraction when you choose to import a resume file
- Verify your premium subscription status via RevenueCat
We do not use your resume content for training AI models, advertising, or any purpose beyond the above.
4. Data Storage & Security
All resume data is stored locally on your device using encrypted device storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore for sensitive values; AsyncStorage for resume content). Data remains on your device unless you explicitly export or share it.
If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device.
We implement industry-standard security measures for the AI import feature, including TLS encryption for all network requests.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except in these limited cases:
- RevenueCat — receives anonymised purchase receipts to validate your subscription. No resume data is shared.
- AI Processing Server — receives your uploaded document only for extraction, only when you initiate it. Not retained.
- Legal requirements — if required by applicable law or a valid legal process.
6. Children's Privacy
ResumeAI is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
Because your data is stored locally on your device, you are in direct control of it. You can:
- Access — view all your resume data directly in the app
- Edit or delete — modify or delete any resume at any time in the app
- Export — export your resume as a PDF at any time
- Erase — delete the app to permanently erase all stored data

8. International Users
ResumeAI is available globally. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, your rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR apply. Our legal basis for processing your data (where applicable) is your consent and the performance of the service you requested.
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA. Since we do not sell personal data and do not collect it beyond what is described here, most CCPA obligations do not apply, but you may contact us with any requests.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be notified via an in-app notice. Continued use of ResumeAI after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
